Another pioneering project with the great Guided Collective team: a live stream book signing with none other than Lord Sugar, that won the prize from The Guardian Awards for Digital Innovation 2012 (22 March) as The Best Digital Campaign

Our role was to produce the video structure for live transmission and filming at Lord Sugar’s office. The big result: getting the title of the book #thewayiseeit trending globally at position 1 for over 20 hours with some 350,000 tweets with over 100k viewers at the time of the live stream!

\\\ The Wolf I Used To Be…

After almost 6 months busting our arses, it’s finally done! And here’s the story behind it:

It started with Saulo Jamariqueli – Nearly Normal founder – writing a short narrative about a wolf’s life change. Everyone has their own interpretation about what The Wolf means to them. It can be seen as a reflection of modern life. The grass always seems greener in the other side, but as is often the case in real life, it isn’t.

Jaime Kiss – Nearly Normal founder – introduced us to Cintia Bertaccini – paper engineer – and we loved her and her portfolio! She was actually the catalyst for the project…

From the beginning we wanted to do a collaborative project where everyone could participate and contribute with ideas and time along the way. Nearly Normal was producing, but we didn’t want to have a director on this project.

At first it was a bit mad because everyone had different ideas about which direction it should go. However the most important and most used phrase on set was “Let’s Try”. So while Cintia was developing the characters based on Clayton Junior’s storyboard design, the rest of the team got together doing the all the other bits and pieces for the sets.

It was an experiment that took on a life of its own. Some artists were involved throughout while others would come in sporadically, and some contributed just for a few days. We wanted a full “hands on” experience, and to make nearly everything on the set, leaving almost nothing to do in postproduction. Even the soundtrack was composed entirely at Nearly Normal Studio, arranged by Luca Samuri and played by himself, Derik Yau and Saulo Jamariqueli. All the editing and Post Production was also done at the Nearly Normal Studios.

We feel that this project really illustrates the organic approach that is unique to Nearly Normal, where we always seek to maximise people’s abilities, giving them the freedom they need to work. As you can see, results are magical!

\\\ Yunus & Eliza – making of…

We followed our friends Yunus & Eliza while they were making a magnificent headpiece for “Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (Universal Records)”, sponsored by Swarovski Elements.

The Making Of film was shown at London Fashion Week 2011, Somerset House.

\\\ Ted Baker and Guided Collective

We had the great pleasure of working with Guided Collective on “Take on Ted”, directing the video production for streaming, working on the set design and doing the tittle bumpers. It was an event that allowed fashion bloggers from the US to control Ted Baker’s photographic studio at the London HQ. In a nutshell, the bloggers became the puppet masters of a live shoot, controlling everything from the models, makeup, hair to clothing choice. They had 15mins to create a look and thereby throw down the style gauntlet. The catch? They could only use Twitter and a live video stream to call the shots, but could also call on their followers for tips.

This is a making of we’ve produced.

\\\ Hasselblad and Dirk Rees

Photographer Dirk Rees was selected to produce a shoot for the Hasselblad “Emotion” exhibition placed in different countries. Nearly Normal produced the video and soundtrack.

\\\ Big Butt Project

A hell of a lot of cigarette butts are littered on our streets every day. Nobody seems to notice them, so we placed some big ones to see what happens…

Big Butt Project is the brainchild of Elias Torres and Jaime Kiss. What started as another idea in the pub ended up involving a lot of people who believed enough in the project to give a lot of their time, patience and dedication to see it to fruition. Thanks to everybody!
